SUMMARY
Kadhalan (Lover) is a successful Tamil language film released in 1994, directed by S. Shankar. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by A. R. Rahman. Written by S. Shankar and Balakumaran, the film stars Prabhu Deva, and Nagma in lead roles. With well received performances from a cast that also included Girish Karnad and Raghuvaran, this film displayed actor/dancer Prabhu Deva's dance moves and acting which, along with the direction, comedy by Vadivelu and music, were hugely popular aspects of the movie. It featured a popular madras bashai song - named "Pettai Rap" - which was written in a rap-like style, interspersing Tamil with English words.
